On Saturday, August 17, 2024, our team had the pleasure of attending La Plaza’s 25-Year Anniversary Kickoff, and what a blast it was! Our very own Jane and Alex were there, and it was truly fantastic to witness the magic of the evening unfold.
The event was held at a stunning outdoor venue, creating the perfect backdrop for a night of celebration. "From the moment we arrived, we were swept up in the vibrant atmosphere. The program was thoughtfully curated, and it was clear that the School of Arts and Culture had put in tremendous effort to make the evening unforgettable," said Jane Price, Project Manger at BryMar CPA.
A highlight of the evening was the special performance by La Doña. As a student, teacher, and preservationist of Latinx traditional arts, La Doña’s performance was a mesmerizing blend of corrido, bolero, cumbia, and mariachi with contemporary styles like reggaeton, hip-hop, and jazz. Her music had everyone on their feet, dancing and enjoying the night to the fullest.
We are so proud to be part of this incredible journey with La Plaza and the School of Arts and Culture. Attending this event and witnessing their growth firsthand reinforces why we love being their auditors. It’s an honor to support their mission and celebrate their achievements with them.
The celebration of heritage through music and dance felt effortless, and the inclusive, welcoming vibe made everyone feel like part of something bigger. It was a true testament to the community spirit they foster and the creative energy that drives everything they do.
Congratulations to the School of Arts and Culture team on a job well done! Your dedication to shaping the built environment and establishing La Plaza as the city’s first cultural district is truly inspiring. We’re already looking forward to next year’s event and can’t wait to see what’s in store!
